Billy Devore (8-7-09) services 8-10-09

Billy Jack Devore, 60, of Savannah, died Friday, Aug. 7, at the Hardin Medical Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late William Ray (Bill) Devore and Edna Earl Culver Devore Smith. He was united in marriage to Beverly Hardin, who survives. Mr. Devore worked as a pipe straightener for Tenaris Steel Mill for 35-1/2 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a United States Army Veteran. Services were held on Monday, Aug. 10, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Eric Jones officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. In addition to his wife Beverly of Savannah, he is survived by two sons, William Eddie Devore of Lexington, Tenn. and Larry Michael Devore of Savannah; one step-daughter, Amanda Hardin Moore of Savannah; and one step-son, Thomas Greg Hardin of Savannah; three grandchildren, and one step-grandchild; three sisters, Shirley Doran, Caralyn Balentine and Doris Lineberry, all of Savannah. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Ray Devore.
