Alonzo Harris (7-16-09) services 7-25-09

Alonzo "Bill" Harris, 79, of Saltillo, died Thursday, July 16, at his residence. He was born in Saltillo, son of the late Memphis Porter Harris and Pauletta Hayes. Mr. Harris was a steward member at St. Mary A.M.E. Church. He did construction work. Services will be held Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary's Methodist Church in Saltillo with Rev. Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Saltillo Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at St. Mary's Methodist Church. He is survived by one son, Gary Harris Sr. of Dayton, Ohio; five stepsons, Terry and Larry Tall of Dayton, Ohio, Jerry, Derrick, Fredrick Harris, all of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Casey and Joann Roberson, both of Dayton, Ohio; and one half-brother, Gene Walker of Dayton, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by three children, Sandra Casey, Howard and Chequita Harris; one sister, Alta Mae Harris; one half-sister, Audrey Mae Eanes.
