Willie Edwards
Willie Edwards, of Hardin County, was born in Corinth, Miss., on Feb. 21, 1956, the son of the late Leslie and Venia Hollins Edwards.
On Sept. 6, 2000, he was united in marriage to Janese Newell, who survives.
Mr. Edwards had worked for Leapwood Sawmill as a laborer. He enjoyed golfing, outdoors, spending time with his family, and watching Tennessee Vols football. He lived in the Childer’s Hill community.
Mr. Edwards departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the age of 52 years, 11 months, 7 days.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Edwards is survived by three sons, Brandon Lashane Edwards of Corinth, Miss., Scotty Edwards of Shiloh and Chris Newell of Counce; a daughter, Ashley Davis of Henderson, Tenn.; a brother, Joe Edwards of Leapwood, Tenn.; six sisters, Shirley Austin, Mattie Eason, Ruby Cornelius, all of Shiloh, Sally Ledgewood of Michie, Mary Stevens of Savannah, and Myrtle Buckridge of Tupelo, Miss.; six grandchildren, Madison Edwards, Alli Edwards, Destiny Edwards, Kelsey Newell, Drayton Davis, and Bailey Davis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by three brothers, James Edwards, Gene Edwards and Dewey Edwards; a sister, Marie Edwards.
Services were held on Jan. 31, at 11 a.m., at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church in Counce, with Glen Miller, James Kirby officiating. Burial was in the Cromwell South Shiloh Cemetery at Counce.
