Vera Gravett

Vera Frances Gravett, 86, of Savannah, died Friday, Jan. 23, at the Hardin County Nursing Home. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Lon and Faye Brashier Gant. She was united in marriage to Morris Gravett, who preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Gravett was a sewing machine operator for Angelica for 40 years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Services were held on Jan. 26, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Harry Nolen officiating. Burial was in the Piney Grove Cemetery at Hardin County. She is survived by one daughter, Robbie Spencer of Savannah; and two sons, Jerry and Jimmy Gravett, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Lou Roberts of Iuka, Miss. and Dorothy Stricklin of Savannah; two brothers, Elmer Gant and Lon Gant Jr., both of Savannah. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Tom Gant and one infant brother.
