T.J. Baker

T.J. Baker, 88, of Clifton, died Tuesday, Jan. 27. He was born in Clifton, the son of the late James Robert "Jim" and Ammous Boroughs Baker. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Coffelt, who survives. Mr. Baker retired from Preston Carroll Construction Company where he was a manager. He was a member of the Church of God in Clifton. Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Casey Jones, Dennis Baker officiating. Burial was in the Baker Cemetery at Clifton. In addition to his wife, Betty Jo, he is survived by three sons, Troy J. Baker and Terry J. Baker both of Clifton, and Douglas W. Champion of Knoxville; three daughters, Marylee Lazzaro of New Tazewell, Tenn., Carolyn A. Godfrey and Pamela A. Reynolds both of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Baker; a brother, Robert Baker; and a grandchild.
