Sammie Pinson
Sammie Pinson, 75, of Hardin County, died Wednesday, Feb. 4.
He was born in Hardin County, son of the late Frank Eldridge and Etta Tanner Pinson. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Barnett, who survives.
Mr. Pinson had worked for Vulcan Materials for eight years and retired from Alter Barge Line where he was a chief engineer.
Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Bob Pickett officiating. Burial was in the Graham Cemetery at Hardin County.
In addition to his wife, Peggy Pinson, he is survived by two daughters, Janet Waters and Cathy Creasy both of Savannah; a son, Tony Scott of Sparta, Tenn.; two sisters, Bessie Austin and Francis Hill both of Savannah; two brothers, James and Joe Pinson both of Savannah; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa Waters and Sherry Smith; a son, Michael Scott; two sisters, Catherine Paulk and Carrie Hughes; a grandchild.
