Sam Brown
Sam Brown, 68, of Savannah, died Sunday, Jan. 11.
He was born in Wayne County, the son of the late Willie James and Alice Irene Morgan Brown. On June 24, 1985, he was united in marriage to Mattie Sue Franks, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Brown had worked for Roach Sawmill for 18 years. He was of Baptist belief.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tracy Love officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to the Kidney Foundation.
Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, Bobby Franks of Olive Hill and Billy Franks of Shiloh; a brother, William James "W.J." Brown of Waynesboro; six sisters, Mary Ruth Davis of Waynesboro, Eddie Crews of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Edna Daniel of Iron City, Tenn., Edith Bratcher of Collinwood, Jonnie Davis and Rebecca Brown both of Olive Hill; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Perry, Brown and Brock Brown.
