Roger Haggard

Roger Wayne Haggard was born in Savannah, on Oct. 17, 1957, the son of Tommy Gene and Annie Margaret Ables Haggard. Mr. Haggard had lived in Hardin County all his life. He had worked for TVEC as a journey lineman and at Milledgeville Truck Stop with his dad. He was a very devoted, loving father, and a loyal son and sibling. He was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ. Mr. Haggard departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 51 years, 3 months, 29 days. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haggard is survived by a daughter, Chelcey Danyell Haggard of Savannah; a stepdaughter, Shantina Hope Frazier of Savannah; two sisters, Cheryl Haggard Hight of Pueblo, Colo. and Christy Anne Haggard Hill of Savannah; a brother, Michael Dale Haggard of Austin, Texas; and two nephews, Brandon Woodford and Cameron White, both of Savannah. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Vera Haggard, Albert and Versia Ables. Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with David Baker, Jerry Milliken officiating. Burial was in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
