Robert Bevis

Robert Owen Bevis, age 78, of Wayne County died Thursday, Feb. 26. He was born in Wayne County, Tenn., the son of the late Jackson and Roxie Johnson Bevis. Mr. Bevis was a maintenance man for Sara Lee Corporation for 25 years. He was a member of Second Creek Church of Christ. A graveside service was held on Sunday, Mar. 1, at the Centenary Cemetery in Wayne County with Jimmy McGee officiating. Mr. Bevis is survived by his wife, Lois Bevis of Lutts; four daughters, Becky Franks, Vicki Wilkerson and Jeanette Phillips all of Lutts, and Janice Hopkins of Stantonville; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Mergie Vickery; five brothers, Doyle, Wilburn, Ford, Arnold and Dalton Bevis; and one grandson.
