Paul Callens
Paul D. Callens was born in Hardin County, on Jan. 20, 1943, the son of the late Ralph Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Duncan Callens.
On March 16, 1963 he was united in marriage to Nancy Joyce Hulen, who survives.
Mr. Callens worked for Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Company for 20 years and was a Real Estate Broker for more than 30 years. He loved boating, golfing, bowling, and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed working on the farm, Pickwick Lake, and selling Real Estate. Mr. Callens was a member of the Pickwick United Methodist Church.
Mr. Callens departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the age of 65 years, 11 months, 25 days.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Callens is survived by a son, John Paul Callens of Pickwick Dam; a half-brother, Ralph Eugene Callens Jr. of Counce; a half-sister, Judy Miller of Norman, Okla.; three nieces, Lois Ann Seaton, Mary Jo Wilson, and Nicole Barnes Skelton; two nephews, Bart Barnes and Duncan Callens.
Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Dr. Ken Story, Richard Haley officiating. Burial was in the White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam.
