Mamie Qualls
Mamie "Cotton" Qualls, 72, of Savannah, died Thursday, Jan. 2.
She was born in Waterloo, Ala., the daughter of the late Oscar Sr. and Lillian Vertie Northcutt White. She was united in marriage to S.P. Qualls, who preceded her in death.
Services were held Sunday, Jan. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Clayton Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Graham Cemetery at Savannah.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Joe Qualls of Gainesville, Fla. and James Williams Qualls of Savannah; three daughters, Margaret L. Teeftaller, Mamie A. McClain and Betty L. Qualls, all of Savannah; three brothers, Jimmy Ray White, George Jerry White and Oscar White Jr., all of Savannah; two sisters, Ruth Lewis of Water Valley, Miss. and Mattie Perkins of Adamsville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Casey Qualls; a sister, Margaret Plunk; and three grandchildren.
