Joe Dockery

Joe T. Dockery, 99, of Hardin County, died Sunday, March 1, in Memphis. He was born in Giles County, Tenn., son of the late Oscar and Lena Moore Dockery. He was united in marriage to the former Helen Branum, who preceded him in death . Mr. Dockery was employed by Wheatley Lumber Company as a carpenter. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Services were held on Wednesday, March 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Charles Linam, Micheal McAlexander officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah. He is survived by two daughters, Lynda Grubbs of Memphis and Jo Hallmark of Savannah, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Dockery and a brother, Elmer Dockery.
