Jennie Manford

Jennie Manford was born in Tyronza, Ark. on July 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Dewey Milan and Bernice Gill Clement. On Sept. 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to William Carl Fielder, who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1976. On Oct. 7, 1991, she was united in marriage to George Chancy Manford, who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 23, 1998. Mrs. Manford was a retired restaurant hostess. She was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church. Mrs. Manford loved to work in flowers in her yard and she was a great cook. She enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with her family. Mrs. Manford departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Savannah, at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 10 days. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Cornelius and her husband Steve of Savannah and Renee Wright and her husband Thomas of Memphis; one son, Craig Fielder and his wife Jane of Savannah, four grandchildren, Jenifer Johnson, Trent Cornelius, Misty Clark and Cade Fielder; three great-grandchildren, Evan Johnson, Dillon Fielder and Taylor Fielder; two sisters, Bettye Paulk of Savannah and Mable Alexander of Washington, Ill.; one brother, Frank Clement of Moline, Ill. Mrs. Manford was also preceded in death by one brother, Dewey Milan Clement Jr. Services were held on Jan. 12, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Don Lee and James Clark officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
