Billy Godwin

Billy Godwin, 66, of Hardin County, died Thursday, Jan. 22. He was born in Hardin County, the son of William Duel Godwin and the late Ruby Belle Godwin. He was united in marriage to Georgia Bain, who survives. Mr. Godwin worked for Phillip’s Brick and Tile as a brick mason. In the past he had worked for Bassell USA and Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church. Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mike Moore, Wayne King officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County. In addition to his wife, Georgia, he is survived by three daughters, Shelia Wrzesniewski of Adamsville, Jeanette Plunk of Crump and Annette Meeks of Stantonville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; stepmother, Thelma Godwin of Adamsville.
