Bill Smith

Bill Smith, 64, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, at his residence. He was born in Cerro Gordo, son of the late Samp E. and Captolia Lorine White Smith. He was united in marriage to the former Jackie Rose. Mr. Smith was a retired fire fighter for the Hardin County Fire Department. He was also a diver, landscaper, carpenter and stone mason. Services were held Friday, Dec. 19, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mark Pendergrass officiating. In addition to his wife, Jackie of Savannah, he is survived by four daughters, Carline Guthrie of Crump, Demetric Gray and Rose Austin, both of Savannah, Roxanna Cortez of Morris Chapel; two sons, Billy and Seneca Smith, both of Savannah; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Smith and Patricia Hill, both of Savannah; and one brother, Troy Smith of Savannah. He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Smith; and a sister, Judy Morgan.
