Dry, warm autumn is fire danger, no relief seen
Dry conditions across Tennessee are the cumulative result of scant rainfall that goes back into the late summer months. Now, unusually warm weather has come as well and relief—at least that which rainfall would provide—doesn’t seem likely soon.
The state is dry from the delta to the mountains and the state Forestry Division is urging caution with debris burning and campfires.
The requirement for burn permits begins Friday statewide, but was pushed up to last Friday for West Tennessee.
Forecasters predict an “El Nino’’ winter, with above-normal precipitation and temperatures.
