State asks for execution date for Zagorski
The state attorney general’s office has asked the Tennessee Supreme Court to set an execution date for a man convicted of two Middle Tennessee murders in 1984.The office Thursday requested the date for Edmund Zagorski, convicted in Robertson County for the deaths of John Dotson and Jimmy Porter. They were shot, stabbed and robbed during a drug deal in 1983.
State attorneys said he has lost various appeals and has completed the standard three-tier appeals process.
Zagorski has said during appeals that he would rather be executed than spend his life in prison.
