Regional airline could expand, add workers
An airline that operates regional flights in Tennessee is considering expanding its work force in Jackson.The airline, TennesseeSkies, hired about 20 people in the West Tennessee city after it started flying out of McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport in August. The Jackson Sun reports that the airline could hire more workers beginning the next fiscal year, which begins in June.
Pacific Wings, a company based in Mesa, Ariz., owns TennesseeSkies.
TennesseeSkies logged just under 1,000 passengers at McKellar-Sipes in four months of flying last year. It has logged another 808 passengers this year through April 30.
Pacific Wings CEO Greg Kahlstorf says the company is considering expanding its marketing, reservation and other operations within Jackson in the coming year.
