TVA manager sees no flooding from precipitation

A Tennessee Valley Authority river manager says runoff from all the winter snow and rain has been controlled and there should be no flooding when spring rains start.
TVA general manager for river scheduling Chuck Bach said the recent rains—including more than 9 inches this year in the Chattanooga area through Friday, are really more normal for the region.
Bach said the river is much higher than normal but TVA has been holding water back in tributaries. He said TVA managers “don’t anticipate any flooding’’ and if a storm does come, space has been created to hold that water.
A National Weather Service meteorologist in Peachtree City, Ga. says the rivers and reservoirs in the Atlanta area are very high and the prospect of possible flooding is a concern.
