Democrats offer $25K bonuses for election wins
Tennessee Democrats have approved a $25,000 incentive for their top two officials if the party scores major wins in this fall’s election.Chairman Chip Forrester confirmed to The Associated Press that he and operations director Jennifer Wallace will qualify for the bonuses if Democrats win back majorities in the House or Senate, or if they win the governor’s race.
Forrester said the party’s executive committee approved the bonuses in lieu of a salary hike he could have qualified for because of better-than-expected fundraising.
Forrester said he prefers the bonus to a pay raise because it shows he has “some skin in the game.’’
