Adamsville Cardinal softball competes In district tourney
The Adamsville High School softball team is currently competing in the district tournament. The Lady Cardinals defeated South Gibson in their opening game of the tournament and lost to Riverside in game number two.The Lady Cardinals were scheduled to play on Tuesday afternoon. They needed three consecutive victories to reach the district title game. They are currently 16-18-1.
Lady Cardinals 7, South Gibson 6
Adamsville jumped in front of South Gibson by a score of 7-3 over the first four innings. South Gibson rallied for three runs in the final two innings to cut the Adamsville lead to one run. Taylor Hutton picked up the win for the Lady Cardinals. Samantha Oaks pitched the final inning to pick up a save.
Danielle Plunk was 3-for-3 in the game for Adamsville. Macayla Kiddy and Whitney Wrzeniewski each picked up two hits for the Lady Cardinals.
Riverside 14, Lady Cardinals 0
Adamsville was held to only two hits in their game against Riverside last week. Macayla Kiddy and Corrie Hill each picked up a hit for the Lady Cardinals. Samantha Oaks was charged with the loss for Adamsville.
