Lady Tigers win three in tournament

The Hardin County High School softball team competed in a tournament in Jackson last weekend. The Lady Tigers won three of their four games in the tournament. They are now 16-13 on the season.

Lady Tigers 10, Liberty 2

Hardin County used a nine-run inning in the third to defeat Liberty last week in their opening game of the North Side Tournament. Katie McGee was the winning pitcher for Hardin County.

Katie McGee was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. McGee was also 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Tabitha Newcomb, Kaitlin Snyder, and Lucy Young each picked up a RBI for Hardin County.

Lady Tigers 11, North Side 0

Hardin County scored two in the first, two in the second, and then added seven more runs in the fourth inning to defeat Jackson North Side. Kara Boyd was credited with the win on the mound. Katie Terry was 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Lady Tigers.

Tabitha Newcomb and Sheridan Rathai each scored two runs in the game. Katie McGee, Kaitlin Snyder, and Rathai each picked up a RBI in the game.

Adamsville 6, Lady Tigers 2

Adamsville scored two runs in each of the final three innings to pick up the win against Hardin County. Katie Terry, Tabitha Newcomb, Sheridan Rathai, Karlee Wyatt, Kelsey McAfee, Allie Boyd, and Cassidy Frazier each picked up a single in the game against Adamsville.

Lady Tigers 4, Briarcrest 2

Kara Boyd was the winning pitcher in Hardin County’s final game of the tournament against Briarcrest. Katie Terry was 2-for-3 in the game with a double. Kelsey McAfee and Katie McGee each picked up a double in the game. Allie Boyd had two RBIs for the Lady Tigers.
