Cardinals sweep Madison
The Adamsville High School baseball team swept a doubleheader against Madison last week. The pair of wins improved their overall record to 17-10 overall and 7-3 in district play. The Cardinals have won 13 of their last 15 games.Cardinals 9, Madison 8
Adamsville rallied from an 8-7 deficit with two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning in their matchup last week. Jake Martin (3-0) was the winning pitcher for the Cardinals. John Reed Odom finished the game on the mound and picked up his second save of the season.
Will Erwin was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the game. Erwin drove in his two runs with a home run in the fourth inning. Josh Chappell was 2-for-2 with a 2-run home run. Odom was 2-for-3 with a 2-run home run.
Cardinals 13, Madison 3
Drew Griswell (2-3) held Madison to only three runs in the complete game victory over Madison. Adamsville jumped in front by a score of 10-0 through the first three innings to easily pick up the win in the second game of the doubleheader last Friday.
John Reed Odom was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Odom had three doubles in the game. Bradley Melton was 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs in the game. Will Erwin, Hunter McSwain, Jalen Kendall, and Griswell each picked up two hits in the game for Adamsville. Erwin added three RBIs in the game.
