Cardinal soccer prepares for postseason
The Adamsville soccer team played two games last week, ending one with a tie and the other with a loss. Head coach Steven Price believes his team is getting better each week, and he is hopeful of a successful postseason. “I have seen signs of improving heading down the stretch,” he remarked. The team currently holds a record of 3-2-4.
The Cardinals lost to county rival McNairy Central last Saturday. The final score was 1-0. Goal keeper Josh Shoate recorded nine saves in the game.
“We played really tough against a very good team,” said Price. The Cards faced Sacred Heart on Monday in a game that had less than favorable weather conditions.
“It was a really messy game in the rain and mud, but a good time for both teams,” said Price. “The ball really changes in that much water.” The game ended in a 4-4 tie.
Dustin Brewer, ChristianYanok, Dustin Plunk, and Dustin Sowell scored the Cardinal’s goals.
Keeper Shoate recorded five saves in the game.
