Lady Tigers defeat Jackson North Side

After falling behind a run in the top of the first, the Hardin County High School softball team scored the final six runs of the game to pick up a win over Jackson North Side last week. The Lady Tigers scored three in the third, two in the fifth, and added one more in the sixth inning.

Kelsey McAfee had a two-run double in the third inning, and Sheridan Rathai added a RBI single later in the inning to give Hardin County a 3-1 lead. Karlee Wyatt had a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, and Rathai followed with a RBI double to push the lead to 5-1. Tabitha Newcomb added to the lead with a RBI single in the sixth inning.

Kara Boyd was the winning pitcher. Boyd allowed only one run in seven innings of work. She struck out six and only allowed four hits. Newcomb led the Lady Tigers art the plate by going 3-for-4. Rathai and Katie McGee each picked up two hits in the game.
