Cardinals lose three games

The Adamsville High School baseball team lost all three games last week. The Cardinals lost their matchups to Riverside, Hardin County, and Trinity Christian Academy. They are now 3-6 on the season.

Riverside 5, Cardinals 3 (8 innings)

Riverside scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat the Cardinals last week. Adamsville manufactured a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game.

John Reed Odom walked and stole second to get into scoring position. Hunter McSwain moved him to third on a sacrifice bunt, and Odom later scored on a wild pitch.

The Cardinals took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run home run by Bradley Melton. Melton finished the game 3-for-3. Odom (0-1) was the losing pitcher for Adamsville in the game. Montell Johnson and Jalen Kendall also pitched for the Cardinals in the game.

Hardin County 18, Cardinals 8

Hardin County scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning to pick up the win over the Cardinals last week. Adamsville held an 8-6 lead after five innings before Hardin County scored the final 12 runs of the game.

Josh Chappell and Drew Griswell each finished the game with two hits. Chappell and Bradley Melton each had a double in the game. Griswell (0-3) was charged with the loss for the Cardinals.

TCA 9, Cardinals 0

Trinity Christian Academy held the Cardinals to only three hits as they posted a shutout victory against Adamsville on Monday. Bradley Melton picked up two of the three hits for the Cardinals. Montell Johnson (0-1) was the losing pitcher for Adamsville.
