Tigers win all four games

The Hardin County Tiger baseball team got off to a fast start last week with wins in each of their first four games. The Tigers picked up wins against Jackson South Side, Bolivar, Gibson County, and Ripley.

Tigers 6, Jackson South Side 2

Hardin County picked up eight hits in their 6-2 win over Jackson South Side in the season opener for the Tigers. Corey Jerrolds (1-0) was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Jerrolds struck out nine and allowed only three hits in the seven-inning complete game. Barker Burnham was 3-for-3 at the plate for Hardin County. Jordan Lambert was 2-for-4 for the Tigers. Dillon Rooker had a pair of RBIs in the game.

Tigers 11, Bolivar 2

Jon Tyler Roach (1-0) picked up a complete game victory over Bolivar last week. Roach struck out four and walked only one in seven innings of work. Roach only allowed three hits.

Barker Burnham and Dylan Moore each had three hits against Bolivar. Burnham had two RBIs, and Moore picked up four RBIs with a home run in the game. Harrison Johnson also was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Tigers.

Tigers 8, Gibson County 7

B.J. Shutt drove home the go-ahead runs in the fifth inning to give the Tigers an 8-7 victory over Gibson County last week. Shutt (1-0) was also the winning pitcher for Hardin County. Shutt scattered 10 hits and struck out four in the complete game victory. Shutt was also a factor at the plate in the game against Gibson County. He was 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs. Walker Vaughn was 3-for-3 at the plate for Hardin County.

Tigers 13, Ripley 1

Walker Vaughn (1-0) was the winning pitcher for Hardin County against Ripley. Vaughn allowed only one hit in the complete game victory. He struck out six and walked only one batter.

Vaughn also starred at the plate for the Tigers in the game. He was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Jordan Lambert, Barker Burnham, Dillon Rooker, B.J. Shutt, and Oneal Franks also had two hits in the game. Lambert had two RBIs and Rooker had a home run in the game. Cade Smith and Dylan Moore each had a double for the Tigers.
