Lady Tigers win four of eight

The Hardin County softball team had a busy opening week of the season. The Lady Tigers played host to the Hardin County Invitational last week and also played several other regular season games. Hardin County won four of their eight games played in the first week of the spring season.

Lady Tigers 12, Liberty 2

Katie McGee was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers in the game. McGee was also 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs. Tabitha Newcomb and Kelsey McAfee also had two hits in the game. McAfee, Sheridan Rathai, and Brittany Newcomb each had a pair of RBIs against Liberty.

Summertown 7, Lady Tigers 3

Summertown used a five-run inning in the fourth inning to defeat Hardin County. Kara Boyd was charged with the loss. Katie Terry and Kelsey McAfee each had two hits. Terry also had a pair of RBIs against Summertown.

Lady Tigers 6, Adamsville 1

Kara Boyd allowed only two hits in five innings pitched to pick up the win against Adamsville. Boyd struck out eight and allowed only one run. Karlee Wyatt was 2-for-3 with a home run for the Lady Tigers. Katie McGee had two RBIs and Katie Terry scored two runs for Hardin County. Bailey Wicker and Brittany Lambert each had a hit for Adamsville in the game. Samantha Oaks was charged with the loss.

Riverside 6, Lady Tigers 1

Riverside scored six runs in the second inning to defeat Hardin County. Allie Boyd had a double for the only hit in the game for the Lady Tigers. Katie McGee was charged with the loss.

McNairy Central 7, Lady Tigers 0

Katie Terry and Jackie McGee each picked up two his in their game against McNairy Central. Katie McGee was the losing pitcher for Hardin County.

Lady Tigers 6, Alcorn Central 2

Hardin County scored four runs in the second and two runs in the fourth inning to defeat Alcorn Central. Katie McGee was the winning pitcher. McGee only allowed one earned run in three innings of work.

The Lady Tigers took full advantage of their four hits in the game. Sheridan Rathai had a pair of RBIs. Katie Terry and Tabitha Newcomb each picked up a RBI. Terry also added a triple in the game.

Itawamba 6, Lady Tigers 4

Katie Terry was the leading hitter for the Lady Tigers in the game by going 3-for-4. Katie McGee had a double and two RBIs. Kelsey McAfee also had a RBI in the game. McGee was charged with the loss.

Lady Tigers 14, Liberty 2

Katie McGee picked up the win for Hardin County. McGee allowed only two earned runs and struck out six batters in five innings pitched. Lucy Young and Tabitha Newcomb each picked up two hits and also had a pair of RBIs. Katie Terry had a double for Hardin County in the game.
