AHS baseball wins three
The Adamsville baseball team added three wins to their record last week, defeating Halls and Ripley on Wednesday and then picking up a win over Martin Westview later in the week.Cardinals 14, Halls 3
The Cards posted a strong offensive performance against Halls, winning 14-3 in three innings. The team scored 10 of their runs in the first inning.
Wayne Replogle (1-0) was the winning pitcher, throwing 1.1 innings. Jake Martin finished the game on the mound and did not give up a hit.
Will Erwin and Bradley Melton led the team at the plate, both going 2-for-2. Melton had a pair of two-run home runs in the win, and Erwin had a triple. Josh Chappell and Jalen Kendall also hit triples in the win.
Cardinals 13, Ripley 0
Adamsville posted another strong performance in their second game of the day, defeating Ripley 13-0.
Zach Robinson (1-0) took the win on the mound, pitching four innings and only giving up one hit. Wesley Stricklin came on in relief and threw a hitless fifth inning.
Chappell was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Melton hit another two-run home run. Montell Johnson scored three on a home run, and Kasey Hurley and Drew Griswell each hit doubles.
Jackson South Side 4, Cardinals 3
Jackson South Side scored two runs in the seventh inning to pick up the one-run victory over Adamsville. Kasey Hurley (0-1) was charged with the loss on the mound for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals stranded nine baserunners in the game. Adamsville was hurt by a pair of errors in the pivotal seventh inning. Bradley Melton had the only extra-base hit for the Cardinals with a double.
Cardinals 10, Martin Westview 0
Adamsville posted their second shutout of the week against Martin Westview. Josh Chappell (1-0) picked up the win on the mound. Chappell combined with Jalen Kendall and Jake Martin to post the shutout.
Chappell, Martin, Drew Griswell, and John Reed Odom each had two hits in the game. Kasey Hurley and Wayne Replogle each added a pair of RBIs.
