Football team has banquet

The AHS Cardinal football team recently held their annual award banquet. Several players were recognized for their contributions to the team.

Players winning offensive awards, top, are Josh Shoate, Best Wide Receiver; Jamel Sanders, Best Offensive Back and Team MVP; Bradley Melton, Offensive Player of the Year; Trae Smalley, Best Offensive Lineman; and Blake Edwards, Best Offensive Lineman.

 Players receiving defensive awards, middle, are Dusty Butler, Best Defensive Lineman and Trae Amos Memorial Iron Man Award; John Blakely, Best Linebacker; John Michael Poland, Best Hit; Kasey Hurley, Best Defensive Back; and Kameron McDaniel, Defensive Player of the Year.

Cardinals who received special teams awards, bottom, are Zak Neary, Newcomer of the Year; John Reed Odom, JV Player of the Year; and Dalton Plunk, JV Player of the Year. Drake Fox, Most Improved; Hayden Reece, Scout Team Player of the Year; Josh Burks, Most Improved; Taylor Alexander, Special Teams Player of the Year; Dustin Plunk, Special Teams Player of the Year; and Brady Herrin, Scout Team Player of the Year.
