Lady Tigers pick up win

The Hardin County Lady Tiger basketball improved their record to 14-2 on the season with a 61-33 win against Dyer County on Friday night. The Lady Tigers have a district record of 4-2. The Tigers lost their game to Dyer County by a score of 108-52.

Hardin County outscored Dyer County 14-8 in the opening quarter. The Lady Tigers used an 18-2 run in the middle of the second quarter to give them an early cushion against the Lady Choctaws. The local team scored the final eight points of the half to lead 41-16 at halftime. The lead remained close to their halftime advantage during the final two quarters. Hardin County led 54-28 after the third quarter and outscored the home team 7-5 in the final eight minutes.

Karlee Wyatt was the leading scorer for Hardin County with 15 points. Tonisha Combs was second in scoring with 13 points. Katie Terry also finished in double figures in scoring with 11 points. Hannah Robinson chipped in with seven points.

Dyer County jumped in front by a score of 20-6 after the first quarter. They increased their lead to 53-26 by halftime and held a 72-35 advantage after three quarters. Jonathan Roach was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 13 points. Coty Eanes was second in scoring with 11 points. Dennis McGarity and Barker Burnham each scored six points.
