Adamsville bowler competes at state tournament
Adamsville High School bowler Amron Forsythe competed in the individual category of last week’s TSSAA State Tournament. The sophomore bowler was the first Adamsville athlete to compete in a bowling state tournament.Forsythe advanced to the semifinal round of the state tournament after posting an average of 186.25 in the quarterfinal round. The top 24 bowlers in the quarterfinal round advance to the semifinals. Forsythe was in 17th place after the quarterfinal round.
The Adamsville bowler posted an average of 154 in the semifinal round. Forsythe finished the state tournament as the 16th best bowler in the state.
Ronnie Christopher, her coach, was very pleased with the young bowler. “Amron represented herself, our bowling team, and our school very well in her first state competition,” he said. “She was a sophomore competing with mostly seniors. I know it is one of her goals to return and compete in the final six for top bowler in the next two seasons. She is a good example for setting a goal and striving with practice to reach that goal.”
