Lady Tigers finish fourth in Best of the West
The Hardin County Lady Tigers finished in fourth place in last week’s Best of the West meet at Obion County. The Best of the West is a district meet that each classification competes in. Hardin County was actually the second Class AAA team at the meet behind Dyer County.The Tiger team did not place at the event. There were approximately 150 girls and 200 boys at the meet.
Allie Boyd was the only medalist for the Lady Tigers. Boyd finished 18th overall. Dorothy Roth had a 24th place finish and Brianna Phillips finished 36th overall.
John Guyer was the top runner for the Tigers. Caleb Angotti was second and Cameron Gant was third for Hardin County.
Hardin County also competed in a freshman meet in Humboldt recently. Dorothy Roth finished second overall. Roth was only one second behind the top runner. Rachel Swanson was seventh and Julia Ewoldt finished tenth overall. Caleb Anogotti finished ninth overall for the boys.
The teams were scheduled to compete at the region meet yesterday (Wednesday) at Shelby Farms in Memphis. The results weren’t known at press time.
