Cardinal golfers advance to state

Adamsville High School senior Andrew Aristorenas won the region golf championship on Monday. Lady Cardinal golfers Abby Dickey and Taylor Hutton also finished in the top four in the tournament. All three golfers earned a trip to the state tournament, which will be held next Monday.

Aristorenas earned medalist honors and the championship with his total of 70 on the day. The golfer was tied with a Bolivar player at 34 after the first round of play, but he held out for a 36 in the second round to claim the win.

Dickey finished third overall for the girls in the tournament with a total of 92. She was second among the individual qualifiers. Taylor Hutton landed in third as an individual with a total of 103.

The three will compete at the state tournament, which will be held at the Willowbrook Golf Course in Manchester, TN. Practice rounds will be played on Monday with tournament action taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
