Aristorenas, Lady Cards advance to region

The Lady Cardinal golf team earned a first place finish in their district in the tournament on Monday, securing them a berth in the region. Andrew Aristorenas will also advance to the region tournament. The region competition will be held on Monday, Sept. 27 at the Shiloh Golf Course.

Lady Cardinal Abby Dickey was the second place medalist in the match with 89. Taylor Hutton finished fifth overall with 107. Lexington High School’s girls finished in second place, and Trinity Christian rounded out the top three. Senior Andrew Aristorenas is the only Cardinal who will compete at region. He finished seventh overall with 75.

Madison won the district championship while Trinity Christian was second and Bolivar was third. Kirby Nixon finished the district tournament with 77, and Hunter McSwain shot 78. Hunter Pyron totaled 91, and Dylan Gattis shot 96. The boys team finished the regular season with a third place finish. Bolivar won the match with 150, and McNairy Central was second with 154. Adamsville’s total of 160 landed them in third, and Lexington scored 164.

Andrew Aristorenas had the low score for the Cards with 37. Hunter McSwain shot 39, Hunter Pyron had 40, and Dylan Gattis scored 44. Kirby Nixon totaled 45, and Trevor Griffin shot 46.
