AJHS football remains undefeated

The Adamsville junior high Cardinals kept their perfect record, earning wins against Beaver and Ramer last week.

The Cards defeated Beaver last Tuesday with a final score of 32-6. Beaver posted their only touchdowns late in the game as Adamsville dominated throughout. Bradley Parmely got the Cardinals on the scoreboard first, and Cameron Cline added two on the conversion. Christopher Bernier added another TD in the second quarter, and Logan Barber ran in the conversion to give the team a 16-0 lead at the half.

Bernier struck again in the third quarter, and Bailey Sweat earned the two-point conversion. Sidney Goldinger scored the team’s final touchdown and also added the conversion. Bobby Moore led the team on offense with 69 yards. Bernier rushed for 62 yards in the game, and Barber had 51.

Parmely led the team on defense with seven tackles. Bernier contributed six, and Moore had five take-downs in the game. Head coach Michael Harvill was pleased with the win. “This was a pretty tough Beaver team, but our boys stepped up to the challenge,” he said.

The Cardinals finished off their week with a 32-14 victory over Ramer. The team again held their opponent scoreless through the first three quarters. Logan Barber scored first and added the conversion in the second quarter. Bailey Sweat added another touchdown in the second, and Barber earned two extra on the conversion. Christopher Bernier and Logan Barber added 16 more points in the third quarter. Bernier scored two TD’s while Barber earned both two-point conversions.

Quarterback Canon Smith threw only one pass in the game, a completion to Bradley Parmely for 29 yards. Bobby Moore led the team in rushing with 48 yards. Matthew Maness posted 45, while Barber had41, Bernier had 39, and Sweat had 37.

Parmely led the team in defense with six tackles. Bernier and Noah Martin each had five take-downs.
