Both Adamsville goals were in the second half. Brittany Lambert scored on an assist by Elisabeth Churchwell, and Jordan Lambert added the team’s final goal. The team had 15 shots on goal. Goaltender Kristina Milford recorded two saves, and Olivia Wright had four.
The team’s defensive play concerned coach Rebecca Ashe. “We have to get better on defense. Every goal we gave up was due to a defensive breakdown. We also need better play up front. Hopefully we can get these problems worked out,” she commented. The team lost to Liberty 3-0 on Thursday. Milford had four saves, and Wright recorded nine.
Ashe believes conditioning played a role in the results. “We did well in the first half, but second half we fell apart. We’ve got to get in better physical shape,” she said.
The team will face South Gibson at home this Thursday before traveling to Jackson on Friday and Saturday for the Liberty Shootout.
