HCHS volleyball team starts season

The Hardin County volleyball team started their season with five matches last week. The Lady Tigers split a pair of matches against Scotts Hill in their opening week of the season. They also picked up a victory against Chester County. They lost matches to Jackson South Side and Trinity Christian Academy.

Head coach Meredith McLemore was pleased with the way her team competed in their first week of the season. “The girls played tough matches this week against some strong teams. We are learning and growing with every game we play, and the future success of this team looks promising,” said the Lady Tiger head coach.

Hardin County defeated Scotts Hill (28-26, 26-24)

Hardin County’s Mallory Mathis finished the match for Hardin County with four kills. Brittney Simmons had four digs, and Haley Scott picked up four assists in the match for the Lady Tigers.

Hardin County defeated Chester County (25-17, 15-25, 16-14)

Kaitlin Snyder led the team with three kills. Hannah Reynolds added two blocks for the Lady Tigers in the match.

Scotts Hill defeated Hardin County (25-21, 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 15-10)

Brittany Simmons led the team with five aces and six kills in the match. Haley Scott contributed with 10 assists. Mallory Mathis helped out by leading the Lady Tigers with six blocks against Scotts Hill.

South Side defeated Hardin County (25-18, 23-25, 15-12)

Brittany Simmons had eight kills in the match for Hardin County. Haley Scott had 11 assists, and Kelsey White chipped in with six assists. Katie McGee had three blocks, and Kaitlin Snyder contributed with three kills.
