Hardin County 13-14s fall in World Series

The Hardin County 13-14 year-old all star team competed in the Dixie Youth World Series in Christianburg, Virginia last week. The local team lost their only two games of the tournament.

The Hardin County team lost to a team from Louisiana in their first game by a score of 10-0. Trevor Bishop, Steven White, and Kendall Adkisson each pitched for the Savannah team.

Hardin County was held to only three hits in the game. Ronald Casey, Alex Wilkerson, and Adkisson each picked up a hit in the game. The local team lost in their final game by a score of 4-0 against Phenix City, Alabama. Savannah was held to only three hits in the game. The trio of Bishop, White, and Adkisson again pitched for Hardin County.

“It was a good experience for the kids but we just didn’t hit the ball like we have been hitting. We are a very young team with six 13-year olds and hopefully we will see us back in the World Series next year,” said Hardin County manager Blake White.
