Savannah league to host Dixie district tournament

The Savannah Youth Baseball league will host the 9 and 10 year old AAA Dixie Youth District 7 Tournament beginning this Friday, June 25 and continuing through Monday, June 28 with if necessary games on Tuesday the 29th.

The tournament will feature four teams, Adamsville, Lexington, Savannah and Selmer, in a round-robin tournament to be held at the ball field off Harbert Drive.

Friday night’s activities will feature Lexington at Adamsville at 6 p.m. with opening ceremonies immediate following and Savannah face Selmer in the night cap.

On Saturday night the 6 p.m. game shows Selmer taking on Lexington, followed by Adamsville at Savannah beginning at 8 p.m. On Monday night Lexington will face off against Savannah in the early game with Adamsville and Selmer closing out the night.

The first and second place winners of this tournament will advance to the AAA Dixie Youth State Tournament to be held July 22 in Rockwood, Tenn. There is a small admission fee each night.
