Tiger tennis team picks up region title

The Hardin County boys’ tennis team won last week’s Region-7 title with a victory over Bolton by a score of 4-3. The victory advanced the Tiger tennis team to the sectionals against Houston High School. The results of the sectional match was not known at press time. A victory over Houston would have put the Tigers in the state tournament.

Sam Doran and Cody Shirley won their singles’ matches against Bolton on Monday. The doubles’ teams of Shirley/Doran and Dakota McFerson/Dylan Bhakta also picked up wins to advance the Tigers to the sectional round. Tiger head coach Bill Sharp stated this is the first time in school history that Hardin County has won a region title in Class AAA.
