Cardinals advance to third round of district
Six of Adamsville High School’s tennis team members advanced to the quarterfinals of the district tournament last week. They were scheduled to play on Monday, but matches were delayed until Tuesday due to rain. Results were not known at press time.Several Cardinal players did not play in the first round of the tournament as they earned a bye. Hayley Edmondson, Josh Warshaw, Sasha Klyuyenko, and the doubles teams of Kate Kucherenko/Darby Congiardo and Hayden Edmondson/Zach Congiardo all began play at the second round of the tournament.
Hayley Edmondson, Sasha Klyuyenko, Kucherenko/Congiardo, and Hayden Edmondson/Zach Congiardo all earned the right to compete in the third round of the district tournament. They must win two more matches to advance to the region competition, which will be held in Memphis.

Kelsey Copeland lost to Anna Whitaker (Madison) 6-1, 6-3
Boleyn/Krenson lost to Sands/Mulvein (Madison) 6-2, 6-1
Kucherenko/Congiardo def. Skinner/Tor (Bolivar) 6-0, 6-0
Josh Warshaw lost to Devante Dawkins (JCM) 3-6, 7-6, (7-5), 11-9
Sasha Klyuyenko won by forfeit Edmondson/Congiardo def. Halton/Stewart (Chester) 6-1, 6-0
