Lady Tigers lose four in district play

The Hardin County High School softball team suffered four losses in district play against Dyer County and Brighton. The Lady Tigers were swept in each of their doubleheaders against their district opponents. The Lady Tigers are now 5-8 overall and 0-4 in district play.

Dyer County 6, Lady Tigers 2

Dyer County scored all six of their runs in the third inning. Hardin County scored their only two runs of the game in the fifth inning. Katie Terry and Cassidy Frazier each scored a run in the fifth inning for the Lady Tigers. Sheridan Rathai had the only hit for Hardin County in the game. Katie McGee suffered the loss for Hardin County. McGee only allowed two earned runs in four innings of work. Hardin County made four errors in the game.

Dyer County 6, Lady Tigers 0

Hardin County suffered defensively in their other game against Dyer County. The Lady Tigers committed eight errors in the game. Each of Dyer County’s six runs in the game was an unearned run. Dyer County scored one run in the first inning and scored the other five runs in the fifth.

Hardin County only managed three hits in the game. Tatia Guinn, Kristen Lackey, and Kaitlin Snyder each had one hit in the game. Lackey was the losing pitcher for Hardin County. She allowed no earned runs in six innings of work.

Brighton 9, Lady Tigers 0

Brighton scored at least one run in all but one inning against Hardin County in their first game last week. Hardin County was held to three hits in the game. Tatia Guinn picked up two hits, and Karlie Roser secured the other hit for the Lady Tigers. Kristen Lackey was charged with the loss in the game. Lackey allowed seven earned runs in seven innings pitched.

Brighton 9, Lady Tigers 4

Brighton scored three runs in the third inning to break open a tie game against Hardin County. The Lady Cardinals scored in all but one inning in the game. The Lady Tigers couldn’t get any closer than three runs after the pivotal third inning.

Tatia Guinn, Kristen Lackey, Katie Terry, Karlie Roser, and Allie Boyd each had one hit for Hardin County. Guinn also scored a pair of runs. Beth Plunk picked up two RBIs. Lackey was the losing pitcher for Hardin County in the game.
