Cardinals pick up win against Madison
The Adamsville Cardinal baseball team picked up a district win against Madison last Tuesday afternoon. The victory gave the Cardinals the season sweep against the Jackson team. Adamsville also lost a district game to Scotts Hill on Monday afternoon of this week. Adamsville is now 9-9 overall and 4-1 in district play.Cardinals 16, Madison 5
Adamsville scored all 16 runs in the first three innings in their victory over Madison. The game was tied at 5-5 before the Cardinals scored 11 straight runs.
The Cardinals banged out 12 hits in the game. Josh Carroll, Josh Chappell, and John Reed Odom each had two hits. Robert McArthur had four RBIs in the game, and Chappell picked up three RBIs. Carroll, Chappell, and Eric Hammock each had a double. Wayne Replogle (2-2) was the winning pitcher for Adamsville in the game.
Scotts Hill 11, Cardinals 1
Scotts Hill scored six runs in the fifth inning to give them some separation against Adamsville in their game on Monday afternoon. The Lions led the game 2-0 going into the fifth inning. Adamsville scored their lone run of the game in the sixth inning. Bradley Melton knocked in Will Erwin with Adamsville’s run.
Adamsville was held to only three hits in the game. Melton, Josh Carroll, and Jalen Kendall each had a hit. Kendall (1-1) suffered the loss in the game on the mound for the Cardinals.
