Lady Cardinals defeat South Gibson
The Lady Cardinal softball team traveled to South Gibson on Monday and returned with a 7-2 victory.The team had hot bats from the start, posting four runs and six hits in the first inning. Halley Beckham had a 3-run home run in the inning. Amanda Krenson also had a solo home run in the third. The team finished their scoring with two more runs in the fifth. Whitney Wrezniewski had a RBI double in the inning and Corrie Hill drove in another with a RBI groundout.
Adamsville held South Gibson scoreless until they drove in their only two runs of the contest in the sixth inning. Halley Beckham threw for 6 2/3 innings, giving up five hits while striking out nine and giving up no walks. Freshman Taylor Hutton finished the game on the mound.
Beckham also led the team on offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles. Whitney Wrezniewski was 2-for-4 in the game.
