Adamsville splits games

The Adamsville Lady Cardinal softball team started the season with a split of their first two games. Adamsville picked up a win against Lexington but suffered a loss to Riverside.

Lady Cardinals 2, Lexington 0

Adamsville scored the only two runs in the third inning, and that proved to be enough as Lady Cardinal pitcher Halley Beckham pitched a shutout against Lexington. Beckham struck out two in the game. Adamsville was held to only four hits in the game, but were productive as they scored the only runs of the game.

Riverside 4, Lady Cardinals 2

Riverside broke open a 2-2 tie with single runs in the third and fourth innings. The Lady Panthers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning before Adamsville tied the game in the top of the third.

Halley Beckham gave up six hits in the game. Beckham also had a double at the plate for the Lady Cardinals, who managed only four hits in the game.
