Cardinals fall in season opener
The Adamsville Cardinal baseball team lost their season opener on Monday afternoon to Jackson Southside. The Cardinals lost to the Hawks by a score of 6-2 in the game.Southside picked up single runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead after five innings. They managed three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 6-0 advantage.
Adamsville was limited to only two hits in the game. The Cardinals got a bunt single from Kasey Hurley, and Josh Carroll hit a 2-run home run in the seventh inning.
The Cardinals were also hurt by four errors in the game. Drew Griswell (0-1) was the losing pitcher for the Cardinals. Griswell pitched the first four innings with Wayne Replogle pitching the final three innings.
