Convenience store robbed, arrest made
Jan. 30– Savannah police today arrested a suspect in a snatch-and-run robbery at K&M Market on Florence Road.
Michael D. Bullock, 46, Hickory Street, is accused of reaching across the counter and grabbing about $200 from the cash register drawer around 9:13 Saturday night.
The store clerk on duty, Vicky Slease, told police she "couldn’t believe" Bullock did it "because she knew him and that his sister is an employee at the store." She said Bullock then ran from the store and fled south on foot.
According to police, Slease said the robber laid 50 cents on the counter to buy a snack item that cost 55 cents. Asking if he could use five cents from the "leave a penny" tray, he snatched the cash when the register drawer opened.

Outside, brothers Gary and Johnny Gammill had pulled up to the fuel pumps and noticed the store was being robbed.
Gary began to run toward the store to help the clerk. As Bullock was running out the door, he shouted to Gary, "I will blow your head off."
The Gammills also identified Bullock to police as the perpetrator.
