Mom pleads for missing teenage son to come home

Oct. 17- UPDATE– Savannah police report missing teen William Pitterd is no longer missing. He showed up at the police department, saying he was tired of running, said Patrolman Dusty Parrish.

Oct. 17– Sixteen-year-old Hardin County High school junior William Pitterd has been missing since the afternoon of Oct. 6, his mother says.

According to Kim Pitterd, her son was last seen by a friend who dropped him off after school at Cedar Pantry in Savannah.

William was also spotted twice that same night by police in the vicinity of city park near the housing projects, but ran both times.

"Part of me wonders if somebody doesn’t have him somewhere," Pitterd said Monday.

She said William had recently been in some trouble and she grounded him, taking his car and phone.

William Pitterd is described as white, about 6’1" tall, weighing 150 pounds, with dark hair.

He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, a white hoodie with some type of design on it and black tennis shoes with pink laces. He was also carrying an extra white and black tee shirt.

Pittered said if she could speak to William now, she would say, "Please come home. We miss you and we love you."

Anyone with information as to William's whereabouts is asked to call Kim Pitterd at 926-6726 or the Hardin County Sheriff's Department at 925-3377.
