Missing girl found, father in custody
Sept. 14– A local man and his teenage daughter being sought in connection with a West Tennessee Endangered Child Alert have both been found, Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson said.
He said Lee Weaver, 61, 1770 Tenn. 57-W, Counce, was spotted driving around 11 a.m. today. Weaver pulled into the Sheriff’s Department substation in Counce where he was taken into custody without incident. His daughter Leeann Weaver, 13, for whom the alert had been issued, was found apparently unharmed at a residence in Michie.
In a news release yesterday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Weaver assaulted Leeann’s mother Tuesday and fled in a rented car with the child, perhaps headed for an Indian reservation in Atmore, Ala.
In August, a Hardin County jury found Lee Weaver not guilty of sexual battery in a case involving a 13-year-old girl.
The alleged victim was not Leeann Weaver, a Hardin County Circuit Court official said.
